Privacy Policy — OrderAlerts Chrome Extension

This policy describes how the OrderAlerts – WooCommerce Instant Order Alert browser extension (“Extension”) handles data. The Extension is 100% free and delivers realtime, instant order alerts for stores using the OrderAlerts WooCommerce plugin and API at https://api.orderalerts.app.

1. Data we process

• Pair token(s) you paste from your WordPress admin — stored only in your browser’s extension storage on your device.
• Order details (order number, store name, amounts, customer name/email/phone, line items, addresses) received from our API for stores you pair — kept temporarily in local extension storage for the Live Orders list (limited history).
• Preferences such as sound on/off and connection status — stored locally on your device.

2. What we do not do

• We do not require a Google or other account to use the Extension.
• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not inject ads or track browsing history on other websites.
• The Extension only contacts https://api.orderalerts.app for order streams and history for tokens you configure.

3. Network access

The Extension uses host permission for https://api.orderalerts.app/* to open a secure live event stream (SSE) and to fetch recent orders for your paired stores. Desktop notifications and an optional alert sound are shown on your computer when a new order is received.

4. Data retention

Local order history and tokens remain until you remove a store, clear the order list, or uninstall the Extension. Server-side order handling for your store is governed by your use of the OrderAlerts service / WooCommerce plugin and any related site privacy policy.

5. Your controls

• Remove a store pair token anytime in the Extension settings.
• Disable audio alerts with the sound toggle.
• Disable or revoke notifications in your operating system or Chrome settings.
• Uninstall the Extension to delete its local storage.

6. Children

The Extension is intended for business / store operators and is not directed at children.
